This year's Sassy Awards had a change of venue and moved to the Surrey Arts Centre.

The awards were hosted by June Liu and Nesan Furtado to an almost sold out crowd.

Seven SASSY Awards were presented in the categories of:
• Community Service: recipient
Karan Grover  
• Environmental Leadership: recipient
Soohyun Kim  
• International Service:
recipient  Manvir (Monie) Singh Tutt
• Overcoming Adversity: recipient  Jordynn Denness
• Performing and Visual Arts: recipient  Alexandra (Lexi) Calbery
• Sportsmanship: recipient  Colby Peters
• Youth Leadership: recipient Jaskirat Sahni 

Each Award recipient received a $1000 bursary, a keepsake SASSY Award and $500 to donate to the registered charity of their choice.

It was an inspiring and entertaining evening with the highlight being award winning video presentations and entertainment performances by youth in the community.

The SASSY Awards are hosted annually by the Semiahmoo Rotary Club in partnership with the City of Surrey, Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Surrey School District, and support from Peninsula Community Foundation and the White Rock and Central City Rotary Clubs.
