The Semiahmoo Rotary Club has partnered with the City of Surrey to create the Recreational Picnic Shelter adjacent to the Rotary Field House in South Surrey Athletic Park. The Picnic Shelter was built to commemorate the 20th Anniversary (1989-2009) of the Semiahmoo Rotary Club.

The Recreational Picnic Facility was developed for the South Surrey Athletic Park near the Rotary Fieldhouse to serve many diverse user needs including pre-school and school aged children playing inside an enclosed play ground erected by the Peace Arch Rotary Club. There are 2 picnic tables providing shade and rain protection.Unsolicited, a group of young mothers who met at the Community Recreation Centre contacted our Club to see if we could create picnic facility in South Surrey Athletic Park near or adjacent to the playground. From there, the concept developed and the picnic facility is now a reality. The Semiahmoo Rotary Club  has applied for a Rotary grant to support the project.
