Philippines Child Dental Outreach

Dr. Ken Stones is a local dentist who, for many years, has organized a group of dedicated Semiahmoo Peninsula dental professionals along with students from Kwantlen Polytechnic, to volunteer to operate a free dental clinic for school children in Siquijor, Philippines. Semiahmoo Rotary has supported their work by funding dental supplies.

In early 2015 Dr. Stones approached Semiahmoo Rotary with a request to support the creation of an on-going dental clinic in collaboration with the local Siquijor school district and provincial government and the Siquijor Rotary Club. We agreed and sought the assistance of the Peace Arch Rotary Club, together raising $9,000 to pay for the supplies to renovate a school building to house the dental clinic.

Dr. Stones will present an update on the progress of the dental clinic and the plans going forward.
