Rotary Notes June 1
Meeting started promptly at 7:14
O Canada – thank goodness for Rod
Mary’s monologue and introduction of guests.
Why Rotary – Judy H attracted because of the 4 Way Test, the integrity required and the question “is it fair to all concerned?” She then quoted some Maya Angelou – one of the greatest poets of this century. She shared some of Maya’s philosophies and beliefs and one of her poems. “We are more alike than unalike.”
Nico spoke about his time with us and did a great presentation.
Sandy won the 50/50 and also the
Queen of Hearts although he drew an ace.
Happy, sad dollars some of both.
Presentation of cheque to George of the Volunteer Cancer Drivers
Update of the Golf Tournament – presentation of Linda W and Larry W about the golf tournament. 64 golfers paid and signed up – we need to register and sign up – both through Lori or more and on line. Registration gift alone is worth around $500+ and you get a tax receipt as well. They are looking for a photographer to work the course, maybe ride with the Marshall. You can go on-line and register through Semiamhoo Rotary website for the golf tournament.
