100th Anniversary Rotary – perhaps donate with table stakes
Cliff A did the Why Rotary and also the Meditative Moment
Talked about his commitment to Polio as his sister had it when he was a child
Meditative Moment spoke to the “Bank of Time” – if you were given $1044 every day in a bank that had no carry over you would make sure you spent it all before the day end – he equated it to the time we have in a day with no carry forward – make sure you spend it all on what brings you joy
Alex won the 50/50 $40
Queen of hearts $316 – Linda C drew ticket – Richard won and then lost
Douglas Smith from the White Rock BIA spoke about the Terry Parr Plaza Revitalization in which our club is quite prominent as Terry was a past member. He passed away suddenly May 6, 2011 from a heart attack. He was a prominent citizen and great person who is greatly missed.
Douglas spoke about may of the different projects and the vision the BIA has for the Terry Parr space and East Beach. Also about revitalization projects throughout White Rock. 
Janet Segat got her permanent badge today so it now formerly affiliated with our club. 
Mike will be sending out a survey monkey request for the committee sign ups and also for the Sept 22 Semiamhoo Rotary Reunion.
Doug Blender spoke about the Sip and Save fundraiser at Semiamhoo Mall 50% of funds goes to the Rotary clubs involved to split – working out the details – this is just a presentation. Will replace Vintage Affair. Volunteers for day, participation of some members for organizing.
Update on Gift Card Program: $79100 sold in gift cards - realized a 8% discount plus 8% match from the Block family resulted in a cheque for $12656 to the Foodbank. With their buying power they will be able to provide up to $37,900 in groceries to the White Rock Food Bank. Way to go Team!!
 
Also - add on - because I write the notes. The Networking and Fellowship Committee will be having a casual afterwork get together at Onyx on Tuesday Aug 16 between the hours of 5:30-7:00 to allow those that get off a little later to come. Just an appy and drink and stimulating conversation supporting one of our wine and dine participants. Come and meet some fellow peeps!
